News: A Revise and Resubmit Offer!

A few weeks ago I received a revise and resubmit offer on The Garden of Ruin: Hunters Rising from a respected publisher. Which threw my whole spot out of wack.

There I’d been, querying agents for the better part of a year following the completion of my revisions on the project, only to find one of the mad shots in the dark I sent to a publisher, of all people, came back with the most positive response I’d yet seen in my career of writing fiction.

Already discombobulated on the back of re-adjustment to life inside my flat as a result of a global pandemic whilst adjusting to a new job and working on an entirely new project, then I’m asked to jump back to my first-love book due to genuine interest straight from a publisher.

At first I sort of malfunctioned - I’d put this project to bed for a while and a half, after all. It was a lot to stomach, but after I had my plates spinning again, I’m ready to get to work while juggling all the new realities we face in the nightmare year of 2020.

The offer was also the kick in the rump I needed to finally produce this website, which I’d put off endlessly in the fear of not having the time to maintain it. Of course, so many authors agented, published, or none of the above have their own website, and I’d been making a mistake in avoiding it.

Whilst these are far from stable times, I hope I can look to the future and forge ahead to move forward with my writing, and illustrate the all important subjects that’ve never stopped feeling so urgent to me. 2020 may be bleak, but I’m determined to give it my all.
